Female Breast Cancer (FBC)

FBC Age Standardized Rate (ASR(W)) in 2016 was 63.6/100,000 representing the highest in Africa and is of utmost concern to the Ministry of Health and Quality of Life.

FBC is by far the commonest site of cancer in females responsible for some 37.1% of new cancer cases registered. The mean age for breast cancer incidence in females was 56.9 years and the median age 58 years.

Mortality / Incidence (M/I) ratio for females is 0.33,
meaning that for every 1 cancer death due to female breast cancer there are 3 cancer cases.
